Used Nissan Juke buying guide

The first-generation Nissan Juke (2010–2019) is one of the most popular used compact SUVs in the UK – and one of the cars we sell most often in Northolt. It's stylish, gives you a higher driving position than a hatchback, and is cheap to run. Here's what you need to know before buying one.

Trim levels

Visia is the basic model. Acenta adds air conditioning and Bluetooth, and Acenta Premium adds extras like a rear camera. N-Connecta brings a touchscreen, colour reversing camera and keyless entry. Tekna is the top spec, typically with heated front seats, a 360° Around View camera and a Safety Pack with blind spot warning. For most buyers, N-Connecta or Tekna gives the best value – the extra kit costs very little more on a used car.

Engines and gearboxes

The 1.2 DIG-T turbo petrol is economical and feels lively, usually with a manual gearbox. The 1.6 petrol is most often paired with the XTRON CVT automatic, which is smooth in traffic and very popular in London. Both are ULEZ-compliant petrol engines.

What to check

Service history: regular oil changes matter, especially on turbo engines. CVT automatic: on a test drive it should pull away smoothly without juddering or whining. Suspension: listen for knocks over speed bumps. Electrics: make sure the cameras, keyless entry and climate control all work. HPI check: always buy a car that's clear of outstanding finance and write-off records.
